Members 6942
Hello people!! I've been playing guitar since 1967. Over time, I've picked up quite a few guitar speakers (mostly 12", some 10"). I haven't bought a new speaker in years. I just like the tone and "character", that some of these old speakers bring to the table? My favorite old-timer, is a Norwegian-made DNH guitar speaker, that I have in an Earcandy Boa 1 x12 cabinet. Other speakers include: Rola, Utah, CTS, Oxford, Jensen, Cleveland, Heppner, Magnavox, Eminence, Goodmans, Wharfedale, Telefunken, etc. Some were made as guitar speakers, others came out of old consoles. With the usual mixture of Alnico and ceramic magnets. On my rare gigs, and getting rarer (arthritis), I drag around a 2 x 10 cab, with the old-style CTS square-magnet ceramic speakers. Thanks for your patience in reading this post. Steve

I found a pair of 1964 Jensen P10R's in a set of Sears Silvertone stereo speakers at a flea market. The 10" speakers were the woofers, and each cabinet also had a 6" and 3" driver. Jensens can also be found in military gear, particularly movie projector/record player/P.A. sets made by DeVry.
