Members IHateRap
So, who's familiar with the way a 1960a is wired? Basically, I'm replacing the four stock 16 ohm 75 watters with four 8 ohm Mesa MC90's. I was thinking about just putting in a new jack and wiring it series/parallel for a mono 8 ohm impedance....but, I got to thinking (dangerous, I know)...couldn't I just wire it up exactly the same as stock and have all the options on the back cut in half? Example: Stock: Mono 4 ohm or 16 ohm Stereo 8 ohm per side Me: Mono 2 ohm or 8 ohm Stereo 4 ohm per side It seems to make sense.

I was thinking that if all the wiring remained the same and I used 8 ohm speakers instead of 16 ohm speakers, my choices would be one jack for 2 ohms (which I would never use) or the other jack for 8 ohms. (what I want) Would this work? Thanks
