Members gizzi Posted April 27, 2007 Members Share Posted April 27, 2007 i loved the crate gt3500 amp i played. sounded great, and didnt have the typical crate crapiness to it. that said, i've never played an ampeg vh140, but did play a SS-70, though i dont know how those two ampegs would compare. Members rebornself27 Posted April 27, 2007 Author Members Share Posted April 27, 2007 Well i just sold my Ampeg vh140c now im looking for new amps and went to guitar center and tried out the crate gt3500 shockwave and i have to say that the crate from the volume i was playing it at which was about on 3 for the master and about 3 for the solo channel it was just solid sounding lots low end and id have to say it has more gain than the vh140c.To me it sounds better but thats my opinion.But of course you would need a 4 ohm cab 2 of them to get the crates full output.But im gonna keep looking.Is there any other solid stae heads that are great for metal let me know Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
