Members myway
Hi, Well I have an old Peavey studio 1x12 solid state amp. Today I went into my sons room where he has been using it and a couple of my guitars. So I picked up an SG and wanted to noodle with it a little bit. I turned the amp on and there was nothing but this really loud huge humming sound coming from it. I thought maybe something was wrong with the cord. Nope, the sound was still going after the cord was unplugged. I am by no means an amp doctor. Any ideas as to what happened, can it be fixed,or is it done, or is it going to cost more to fix than it's worth? I asked my son later today what happened, how could it happen. Of course I got the standard deer in the headlight look and a "I don't know". I have managed all these years not to blow one completely up, let lone a SS amp. What do you think? I ran it passed the wife to see if I sould score another amp. She's not having it. I was watching some youtube clips the other day, the Orange AD30TC sure is sounding sweet! Anyone own one?
