Members Astynax
So here's the story - stepped on my guitar cable on Sunday in rehearsal not realising that the lead was pulled somewhat taut... suffice to say, the input jack on my Marshall 30th anniversary head was wrenched somewhat violently from (what I assume) was the board. What a twat. The socket is now rattling around inside the amp and the head is, as can be expected, somewhat unusable. I'm going to have to take it to a local amp/guitar repair man to get it fixed, just wondered if any of you tech types have any experiences with this type of 'injury'? Is it a big deal at all? I have no experience with this sort of thing, I've always been relatively lucky with amp maintenance/accidents e.t.c. so any advice/warnings are most appreciated. Members lndianScout
If the socket is mounted to the board, have them resolder it, if it's a jack thats just mounted to the faceplate of the amp it may of either pulled some wires off or bent it where it's grounding the jack.. simple fix either way
Members t1n0
Yeah, +1 on scout...and learn to tie your guitar cable around the handle on your amp; prevents what happenned to you, and from being unplugged.
Members Astynax
Yup, lesson learned there certainly. Oh well, at least it wasn't at a gig, now that would have been a full-on disaster. It's been a little loose for a while truth be told so something was going to have to be done sooner or later.
