Perhaps you could link Best friend drunk, kissed my love With Best Friend died in an accident Now there a few good things I think this does. It adds a link between the two verses. It removes some of the tragedy from the 'died in an accident' and changes it to the dark irony in 'best friend drunk, kissed my love'.
