He's a really proficient and prolific writer. He really likes to capture spontaneous moments, doing things like writing songs in 20 minutes and then making the band play them. He's very talented, but because he writes so much stuff, some of it will come off as sloppy or incomplete, but there are so many great lyrical and musical moments in his songs that it's totally worth bearing the occasional mis-step.
