hey, im learning & writing blues at the mo and would like to know the 12 bar blues progression, i just to no it but have forgotten it so would someone be kind enuff to tell/explain to me it. Thanks much appriciated

I'm not sure if this is what you're looking for but I'll give it a shot.

12 Bar Blues in G we'll say.

 

4 bars on tonic G

2 bars on IV chord C

2 bars back on G

1 bar on V chord D

1 bar on IV chord C

1 bar on tonic G

1 bar on V chord D

 

Hope this helps, it is a standard blues progression

I did leave out 7ths and stuff like that but you can fill those in.
