here's the deal... i wasn't gonna post these cos i'm not used to having my own voice on recordings..... i think they're intended for acoustic but i dont own an acoustic yet. as you might know i've been playing guitar for a little less than a year... experimenting with it a lot... mostly by ear, a lot by having watched my guitarist's hands in the past (i'm a bassist), and also through music theory and chord construction. i haven't had a teacher cos i'm caught up in upright lessons but would prolly like to eventually.

anyways.... the first one i wrote then a friend of mine offered to write lyrics cos i simply haven't been able to. so i fit the music to the lyrics

the second one are new lyrics he handed me today in a class. i edited em a little bit and wrote the song around it. it's only got the first 2 verses but i'm working on it. good for one day of recording so far.

anyways. enjoy. who knows. any comments/feedback/criticism is always welcome :)

Lyrics: Lie

hold my daydreams

purge my night dreams

your eyes beam

as they set the scene

for the disrespected feeling

everyone gets

when they lie down and ask

what does it all mean?

stars get swallowed by the sunrise

patch a seam of midnight sky

deamed necessary complimentary

what could make the morning more serene?

fill the footprints in the snow

the lie of a thousand lives

slowly lands on the white hill

and dies

"That is so Floydlike it scary. Captures the same melancholy but the guitar adds a totally different feel. Bravo! I'd post it anyway. You know you're gonna get {censored}e, but you got thick skin. " -Lug

working lyrics (Traffic):

My body breaks the wave

traffic, the headlights

the tire that bites yellow lines moving like dead conversation

make yourself a slave

to the cheaters of the game of life

run their pedal to the ground

have no mercy, break the speed limit

midnight tunnel

is god's basement

as he steps onto the pavement

the lights are golden

but their accen stings my eyes

that take in

illumination

and i never learned a thing

and i never learned a thing

"Another nice one! I have a suggestion for you. If you haven't ever listened to The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway, by old Genesis (with Peter Gabriel) run, don't walk, ang get this 2 album set. Listen to the guitar and lyrics. You will likey very muchy. I'm off to bed, you should post these." -lug
