Members tubebury/KT88
I'm running a Dave Bray modded Super Lead into a 16 ohm wired 4 x 12 cab with G12-65s.... Why would the cab have more volume when the impedance selector is set at 8 ohms instead of 16? I thought that if the impedance was matched, there would be a more efficient operation! Can anyone shed any light on this puzzling situation?? It's strange because my 50 watt Marshall doesn't behave this way with the same cab.... Members yabba
the only thing I can think is that either the cab or head are miswired/mislabeled.

I thought that too, but the ohm meter reads 16 ohms on the cab.... This is strange!
Members yabba
do you have another cab? you could check and see if the head does the same thing with a different cab. maybe the outputs are just mislabeled on the head
