I play guitar for a Metalcore band (dont get scared;) ) I need thoughts and opinions about how you define the following styles. I need to know how to define styles better, since this is the first band where 90% of the music writing is depending on me. All of my bandmates are great guys, but sometimes when it comes to writing down songs, I dont know what to do. I take up ideas they offer such as, "It should start melodic then jump to something progressive." Progressive, Melodic, Technical, "Grunge/ Sluggish", etc. Your help is greatly appreciated.
