Members RonaldPagan
How quick am I gonna kill a speaker (15" 150watts) if I use it with my powered PA for vocals? I also plan on using a non powered monitor. I've been using stereo speakers for ages but not at very loud levels. My reason for doing this is that I don't have the cash to drop on good PA speakers so I've been using garage sale and curb side finds.
Members Hugh_Jorgen
Bass amps / larger cabs can be used, but will sound muffled if you're pumping high frequencies into most cabs. Some are a little more full range friendly, some aren't. Go for it, see what it sounds like.
Members RonaldPagan
Well we're a pretty speedy oldschool punk band with just myself on vocals so sound quality isn't the be all and end all at this point. Just want things to work for longer then a couple weeks.
Members RonaldPagan
well it didn't sound awsome and I didn't really push it to much so it wasn't way loud....BUT....my luck continued as I curb surfed on trash day and found a pair of home made PA cabs! looks like old Marsland(Traynor) speakers 12" in giant 4 foot high cabs hand painted. The huge cabs give all the volume and they are loud as hell and sound great. I'm gonna wallpaper the ugly cabs with our old show flyers and touch up the wiring. God I love trash day!
