Members Davetopay
My trusty 1984-ish Peavey Butcher cab is really showing its age and I am considering a replacement. I have 2 setups I use depending upon the situation... 1: Digitech 2101-->Peavey Classic 60/60--> cab 2: Peavey Ultra 60-->cab nothing too complicated there. I am thinking I'd like to have stereo inputs, a little more upper mid response, but still retain the hard punching low end that the Sheffields give me. Suggestions? Members mincy
Given the 60/60 power amp, you might want to look for a used Mesa Rectifier or Marshall 1960 cabs since you can run both cabs in stereo or mono. You could buy a new Avatar cab as well in stereo or mono cab for about the same money, but it's not switchable on the fly like the Marshall or Mesa, so you're stuck unless you rewire it. I am considering an empty cab and loading it myself...but don't want to have to drop tons of cash trying different speakers one after the other.
