Members Johnonon
I got my Blues Junior in June of last year and I always loved it. But then my ears started to become more fine-tuned and i realized my amp sounded a tad harsh and really lacked the midrange raunch I love. Plus it looked a little dull too. So for the past couple of months I've been upgrading it both in the looks and tone department So here's what I did Replaced tubes-Got rid of the garbage sovtek tubes and got JJ EL84's and EHX preamp tubes (Not really impressed with them, I'm trying to locate some 12BZ7's). The JJ's are fantastic, harmonics are very apparent when pushed into saturation Replaced Speaker-I love the greenback clone, but I love a bargain too. Looked up Warehouse Guitar Speakers. 65 bucks for an american made greenback clone. Dropped it in and the midrange stiffness immediately went away and the amp has the raunch I've always loved. Replaced Grille-Found a square yard of thin white fabric to make a black/white contrast with the amp and make it look original. Pics will be up soon
