Members JnBroadbent
Instead of cutting off the ball-end or having to clamp the string in, something that is like a typical Fender trem where you put the string through the back end of the trem then locking it down? Members satannica
Ibanez trems offer this feature as far as I know... but tbh, I'd have an OFR anyday over an Ibanez tremolo.

Just feed the non ball end of the strings in from the headstock to the trem and lock it in the block and then cut off the surprlus (and the ball) on the other end when you're done
Members Killing Nevada
I had floyd rose II that did that.......but it was horrible.

EB's are wound to the end but if I recall GHS have that inner bit sticking out at the end.

Members Killing Nevada
OFR? Why was it bad? ermm idk if it was official it was on a cheaper kramer...........it just had a really hard time staying in tune. you know....now that i think about it. i dont think the strings went thru the body...they went thru the bottom of the floyd rose. Members strtdv
If you have a FR Speedloader they're double ball end strings that you don't cut the ball ends off..
Members El Grinder
I have a REALLY FRIGGIN' OLD floyd rose trem on an '85 B.C. Rich warlock. It was actually string through the back instead of locking at the saddle... It was a VERY primative design though, still had two hex screws for adjusting the height of each saddle (like a wilkenson fixed bridge) and a screw/spring for adjusting intonation... I would go with a more modern design and just clip the ball end off...
