Do they make a string-thru Floyd Rose?

Instead of cutting off the ball-end or having to clamp the string in, something that is like a typical Fender trem where you put the string through the back end of the trem then locking it down?

Just feed the non ball end of the strings in from the headstock to the trem and lock it in the block and then cut off the surprlus (and the ball) on the other end when you're done

Depends on what kind of strings. EB's are wound to the end but if I recall GHS have that inner bit sticking out at the end.

I have a REALLY FRIGGIN' OLD floyd rose trem on an '85 B.C. Rich warlock. It was actually string through the back instead of locking at the saddle...

It was a VERY primative design though, still had two hex screws for adjusting the height of each saddle (like a wilkenson fixed bridge) and a screw/spring for adjusting intonation...

I would go with a more modern design and just clip the ball end off...
