Orange Hustler 125

So I've got hold of a 1975 Orange Hustler 125 (basically a 2x12 combo of the OD 120 AFAIK), but its in bad shape.

 

First the bad:

 

One of the speakers has a burnt out speaker coil, so it needs a new speaker. (although its the original Orange speaker, so I might look into getting it repaired)

 

The amp is currently not working. She fires up OK but all you get is hum.

Tubes all glow (2 of them are glowing bright purple at the base), but no guitar sounds. I'm hoping the transformers are OK...

 

Non-original footswitch which is in bad shape..

 

Tolex is pretty beat up.

 

 

The good:

 

Very simple well spaced out circuit board, so should be easy to work on.

 

All old stock tubes. Preamp tubes are all Brimar, and Output tubes are a pair of Mullard EL34's (even if the amp is irreperable, I'm keeping these)

 

This is the 60 watt 2xEL34 version, which is even rarer than the 120 watt 4xEL34 one

 

Tube driven reverb and tremolo.

 

 

 

 

I'm taking it in to get looked at in the morning, to see if its worth my while getting it repaired.

 

Hopefully I'll get a pretty awesome amp out of it, unless theres something major wrong with it. It will never be that pretty, but it could be a good working amp.
