Members Tubeheadz
Today I turned on my Crate v18 waited then flipped my standby switch and my volume is only about half what it normaly is. The amp is only a month old could the tubes be dead already?I was just getting to like this amp as it was starting to sound better every time I played through it.Oh and V18 owners that are bumming on the overly bassy sound of this amp should try the EHX metal muff with top boost! Its just what the doctor ordered.
Members imgooley
Yes, it could be the tubes. Specifically pre amps. Every problem I've heard of with the V's has been a pre amp tube.

Members Tubeheadz
Hey thanks guys, I just went and tried to fire it up again. With no instrument cable plugged in I dimed everything and listened to the semi loud hiss of the amp and every so often there is a clicking noise. It seems as if the amp is only coming half out of standby if thats possable?
