Members Hillshire9
I play mostly heavy rock/metal and I want a cab thats gonna rip. Am I better off sticking with a peavey cabinet or should I shoot for something like a mesa cab? Thanks, Jimmy
Members FiveIron
avatar cabs... vintage 30 and g12h30 mix. mesa cabs are sweet, but putting a valveking on a mesa cab is like dropping a 4 cylinder into a fullsize f250. it makes no sense. avatar cabs are just as nice, and you'll only spend 500 bucks in the end. check em' out avatarspeakers.com
Members JesterRace51
Avatar, or look for a used marshall 1960 on the cheap. I used to run a 1960A with the stock 75s when the valveking was my main amp. Was pretty decent, and I was playing modern metal.
Members br1an
hey! i used to play a valveking ontop of a mesa oversized. seemed good to me, we cant all afford the best head ever right away, gotta work youre way up check out my old bands recordings from my sig, they were done with either my mesa or a marshall 1960.i think our producer liked the tone of the marshall better... but that was all miced and set up for recording, it sounds much different live and all...
