Members Peaveyherman
My friend just bought one of these.Sounds friggin' great.Anyway,i noticed it came with stock with matched quartet of JJ el34,3 ec83s and an electro-harmonix something or rather. Is it a new thing for peavey to use decent tubes during manufacturing now?I recall a certain 5150II that was brand new and FULL of bad tubes.(this was about 7 years ago). Members DirtyBird
JJ power tubes are among the cheaper ones. I woudlnt buy new JJ's just because they use out-of-spec pins. EH pre tubes are mediocre. I prefer the Chinese ones.
Members Sixtonoize
I've had bad luck with JJ power tubes. For a little more, you can buy tubes that will actually work.

I guess if peavey uses them stock, they must fit the specs of the 3120.I was just shocked to see them in there actually.I was expecting to see un-labeled chinese bulk tubes. Any other manufacturers using them?

I've never heard a XXX,but for a entry level amp high gain, you can't go wrong. It can do el34 or 6l6,easy to bias,3 channel foot switchable. The free 4-12 windsor isnt that bad either.
