Ibanez RG neck markings

Dunno, but I had the same thing with my neck.


marked as RG550.

edit: The thing is that most 550s from the 470-era had the skunk/bubingastrip on the back.

 

Yeah, well it's confused me quite thoroughly. The other thing being that a 550 would have a Wizard neck, whereas this feels like a Wizard II to me. Then again, it's been a while since I played a Wizard neck, so maybe I'm just remembering them wrong. Pretty sure I'm not though. :confused:

It means nothing. My RG470 neck is exactly the same, it's a common thing. Apparently there are no necks that say "RG470" on them.

If you notice our very own Toshiro makes an appearance there also. If it's an MIJ 470 with the AANJ, it'll have a Wizard II. If it had a Wiz I it would have a bubinga stripe through it. No Bubinga stripe + AANJ = Wiz II. Wiz II = RG470

It's funny reading those old threads sometimes, I like the guy that has 1998+ 550s without Super Wizard necks. :lol:
