I have a vintage guild Thunder 1 Reverb that has the original Oxford 12ks-7. From what I could glean on the internet, this is a ceramic speaker that is not exactly known for its great tone. The speaker in mine is certainly muddy and has some unpleasant ice pick highs. For deluxe reverbs i know alot of people recommend Weber 12F150's. My only requirements are that the speaker is 12" and 8 ohms. Would like to have a good warm mid-range tone that sits right on the verge of breakup. Any suggestions? Alnico vs. Ceramic?
