Members bluehuricane
how do you think it affects the tone of your amp? i never considered it, until my friend with an original bluesbreaker put a piece of the cloth in front of a speaker while i was listening to music and all of a sudden, the sound got really midrangy. do you think that grillclothes affect your tone or am i insane? it seems like every little trivial thing can alter your sound. weird stuff. Members Curtis.Fagan
Does your voice sound different when you have a scarf wrapped around your mouth? Same idea, but a little easier to negate since a grill cloth is stiff and thin and an amp SHOULD be louder than your voice. -Curtis
Members this is paul
I think the amount it affects it varies. For example, Marshall cabs have fairly thing grillcloth so I doubt it affects it muc. However, Orange cabs have a thick basketweave which probably attributes somewhat to the darkness
Members bluehuricane
have you ever touched real bluesbreaker cloth (not the reissue stuff) that stuff is really thick! the rubber stripes make it so only like 1/3 of the surface area actually allows sound to flow through it freely. it's cool stuff, i felt it right next to the ri stuff, no comparison at all.
