Members wrxplayer
I just ordered a JTM50 head and am anticipating a need to either alter my existing 2x12 cab or swap it out for a new one that's better matched to the Wallace. I currently have a Two Rock open (standard) 2x12 cabinet loaded with the Two-Rock branded K&M TR12-65s (I think they're made by Eminence). The speakers are very efficient and it gets loud easily. The speakers are also a little bright sounding for my taste. My options are swapping out the speakers or buying a new cabinet. The Two-Rock's worth about $500 so I'd like to use that as an outside number if I pick up a new (used) cabinet. I'm not interested in a 4x12. I also have an open 1x12 w/ a Jensen Blackbird that I really like. But I suspect the JTM50 would be better suited to a closed 2x12 for optimal tone. I really don't know much about the design of cabinets and speakers other than the basics. My guess is that I want a less efficient set up so that I can push the JTM50 a little harder. It's primary use will be for bar gigs.
