Kind of hard to define, but this is something I look for in music. Not that I abhor artificiality, but a song has to make sense within itself, if you know what I mean. If you find that their depictions move you then I don't think they'd be mundane anymore - the artist has elevated the situation into art. As I said most art seeks to take ordinary life and make it extraordinary. Otherwise you wind up with unedited lengthy Andy Warhol movies of people eating and sleeping.
