Members BigED
I have an Engl Blackmore, and I was wondering if anyone knows how the tone knobs are configured. It is: 1. Centering the Bass, Mid, Treb, Presence knobs at 5 (12:00) is the natural sound of the amp. Any setting from 5 to 10 (past 12:00) is considered a boost that may decrease the quality of the natural tone. OR 2. Turning the Bass, Mid, Treb, Presence knobs all the way to the right is the natural sound of the amp. Anything less than that and the tone knobs are cutting frequencies. The knobs do no do any boosting. (Similar to a tone knob in a guitar.) I'm trying to figure out if the natural start point is all tone knobs at 5 (12:00) or all tone knobs at 10. Members jet66
It doesn't state it in those terms, but the manual suggests starting with the controls at noon. It says the Bass, Mid, and Treble are 'passive EQ.' And I would assume when they say 'controls at noon,' the just mean the tone controls. Setting the masters that high will be quite loud.
