Members JC-TONEQUEST
I am insterested in getting a new bridge pickup for my US Masteres AvadaS (basically a higher quality a Les Paul Copy). It has mahagony back, flamed maple top, maplecore set-neck with ebony fretboard. I have beein checking out Motor City Pickups and I am interested in the Hell Baby & the Solution. Just looking for some opinions from those of you that have them. I play metal and hard rock. I like a versatile pickup that sounds good split too. I have emailed Wade at MCP but hasn't gotten back to me yet.
Members mhenson42
I have both. The Solution is more metal sounding and crunchier - more output too. The Hell Baby is smoother and super clear. Still does great for metal, but I think it is better suited for a broad range of styles compared to the Solution. Both pick-ups are unique sounding. If you want something a little more traditional in sound, but great all-around, the Afwayu is a great choice. My Hell Baby set is in a mahogany PRS Standard. The Solution is in an ESP Horizon - mahogany with a maple cap.
