1x12 extension cabinet

I currently use a fender bassman (1966 blackface) into a 2x12 cabinet rated at 4 ohms. i also use a 1965 original deluxe reverb.

there are two things i want to accomplish.

1) have a 1x12 for the bassman for smaller gigs when i cant bring the 2x12. 1x12 loaded with one 4ohm speaker

2) run the deluxe reverb through an extension cabinet for some more volume, greater spread of sound. now i know the DR needs to see 8ohms, so i was thinking i could have the main out going through the 1x12 extention cab (at 4 ohms) and the ext speaker out going to my 2x12 (rated at 4 ohms). thats 2 cabs at 4 ohms. would that give the 8 ohm load the DR needs? This would allow me to run the DR through 3 12 inch speakers instead of the single 12 inch inside of the combo.

if both of these are possible, what 1x12 and 4ohm speaker would you recommend? in the DR combo i have a celestion gold and in the 2x12 i have george scholz sugarcones
