Parkour is more about jumps and climbing, free running is mostly about traversing urban terrain as fast as possible. Its basically the same thing, except in different directions

Because of the way he landed. His knees bent when he hit the ground, reducing the impact, then he let himself roll backwards which turned the momentum horizontal, instead of laterally.

 

Nonetheless, I'm sure it didn't feel very good when he landed.

 

Keep this strategy in mind if you ever decide to fall from a high point.

The black guy who was doing the Parkour at the beginning of Casino Royal is actually the so called inventor of Parkour. Well, technically he's the co-creator. The guy's friend and other co-creator is the main character from the movie "District 13" (not the cop).

 

There's no need to argue over the definitions of Parkour and Free-Running. Everyone uses the two terms interchangeably and the only real difference is that Free-Running emphasizes the tricks you throw into getting from A to B.
