Members Stratmaster458
Hey, Well the preamp tubes in my 1962 Fender Bandmaster are Microphonic.the whistling isn't too bad but I'm gonna need new tubes for heading into the studio. What should I get for 12AX7's? what brands do you recommend for what sounds? what brands make quality tubes that aren't overpriced?

I have Tung -Sols as powertubes , so how would putting JJs in the preamp section affect the sound? this particular fender is weird its not bright like a fender normally is. its kind of dark sounding, which I like and I have a hotrod deluxe for any bright tones I need. Uh, not to be a dick but he did just say JJ: dark and gainy. So putting them in the preamp would darken/warm your tone, and give it some more gain.
