Members fluxpunk
hi i wanted to build an effects pedal http://www.home-wrecker.com/bazz.html . when choosing the caps someone told me you buy 16volt cap for a 9volt system, but iam from the UK asnd i cant seem to find anywhere that does 16v caps for the values listed. They only do 250 volts would it be wrong to use thouse? thanks
Members Sir H C
In general if it is 1uF or larger, you want to use 16 volts or the capacitor will be too big to use. For the lower valued capacitors, you can get away with higher voltage devices as that is what they make since there is no savings to the manufacturer to make lower voltage values.
