Metalized film capacitor better than non metalized?

The main difference between the two, apart from price, is the ability to withstand high voltages with fast rise times. The regular film can withstand higher voltages in excess of the working voltage, whereas the metallised film is often self healing in cases of punch through. Other than that there's not much to choose between them.

and...in a pedal running 9vdc, you won't hear a difference if you had the exact same value caps but different material type.
