Hey good amps are not exactly cheap here in Oz, and after finding a few cheap tube head, ashton 100w to be specific" for a few hundred I got to thinking how hard would it be to revoice a cheap head to get a decent, if perhaps unique, sound. I have found a wealth of schematics at www.schematicheaven.com to help with the planning stage, but was wondering if anyone had tried something of this nature?

"Some Scientists claim that Hydrogen, because it is so plentiful, is the basic building block of the universe. I dispute that. I say that there is way more stupidity than hydrogen, and that is the basic building block of the universe". from page 239, The Real Frank Zappa Book (1989).

Run a websearch for 'Blues Junior mods' or 'Valve Jr. Mods'.

Those folks have found many mods that can brighten, darken distort and/or clean up a tube amp's sound, and they are more than willing to share their knowledge.

Good luck, and be safe.
