Members fastvfr Posted November 20, 2006 Members Share Posted November 20, 2006 If it is a rosewood 'board, then the easiest way would be to just sand it to suit your tastes using a small flat hand-held block. If you try using a jig, the results will likely not be as good as you'll get by doing it by hand. Start with 150 grit to contour (GO SLOWLY), then lightly touch up with 300, 600 and finally polish with 1200. Oil lightly with mineral oil and yer done. With rosewood, anyhow. If it's a maple fingerboard you'll have to refinish (or at least touch up) the sanded edge afterwards, which can get 'interesting'. Good luck.
