I have heard that there is a program or a way to convert a song from the radio into midi format and then to guitar pro. Do you guys know of anything that will do this? If so, please tell me what brands are best and what I will need. I recently joined a band that has an album complete and I need to learn their songs.

ive been in your shoes. As far as i know, there isnt anything good out there. Ive sampled some, WAVtoMID and other goofy software packs, but honestly, they dont work worth a {censored}. If you can find one, itll do one track at a time, so thats only useful if you have the project tracks. Forget about distortion guitar working.

 

On top of that, i know first hand guitar pro's midi import is friggen weak. It works, but last i checked it wont let you specify a tunning, and it throws in random rests and the notes are all over hte place (but im assuming you knew that)

 

Best i can say is download Transcribe! and get crackin!
