Help me help a friend - Axe-FX content

So my buddy wants a single rig that can cover a broad range on tones (think coldplay to SRV to modern metal)--so I mentioned the Axe FX.

 

What kind of powermaplifier do people like most with it (ss or tube and/or brand) and what ground control pedals should he have. I use it with the Randall RT 2-50 through an Eganter 2x12 for live use. I use a rocktron All Access and 2 Boss volume pedals as expression pedals. One is used for volume all the time and the other is used for wah/whammy/whatever the patch calls for.

I get great tones out of it and I chose the randall because its very neutral since it's intended for the modular line. The biggest minus to this is that the Randall is heavy as all hell. A rack with that, the axe, and a shelf with just a few small items on it is so terribly heavy.

There's a bunch of Fractal gear for the snax now. Controller, power amps etc.
