Members maiden_fan Posted March 17, 2011 Members Share Posted March 17, 2011 My band is starting recording of our mini album next month, so I have literally 3 weeks to come up with the best recorded tone possible. I will definitely be using my JVM but after hearing lots of great recordings on here of amps mixed together I would like to try this for the CD. I will be doing guitars myself. What would you guys recommend? My band plays basically classic heavy metal in the style of Iron Maiden etc, but a bit more modern/contemporary. First start on setting my recording tone http://soundcloud.com/user9696373/smashing I would love a Cali Modded Marshall but I don't think I could get the funds or one modded in time. I was thinking get a JCM 800 or a 2203 and boost it to mix with the more modern JVM sound or a Peavey 5150? Let me know what you think.
