reverse polarity tap tempo how to?

A tap tempo would be a momentary switch, so do you wish to convert from a "normally-open" type action to a "normally-closed" switch action? In which case, your circuit won't do that. In fact without some active electronics you can't make a normally-open switch act as a normally closed, or vice-versa.

check out the 3 lug momentary stomp switch from small bear. the center lug would go to the shield, then the other two lugs are open (push to close) or closed (push to open). wire each one of these sides to a SPDT switch to select what the foot switch does to the tip (push to close, or push to open).

although, if this is for a delay, why would you even need to have it tap 'backwards'? it's much easier to tap your foot down than to time it on the up stroke no?

yeah that's basically it. just flips it from open (push to close) to the opposite.

most tap pedals i've seen have been push to close, to you activate the tap tempo electronics when you bottom out the switch. but i guess there are some that work backwards.

awesome thanks
