I got this spiffy new laptop, and a 2000 Watt system. but, I basically know nothing about DJing. do people mind having a DJ who doesnt scratch and stuff? I can que up songs and do announcements, but thats about it. do I have a good enough start to be able to make money? also.... whats some good software that can auto cross-fade for me? free if possible
Members jv17
i guess you should have a dj studio software and from there you can practice..also after you practice you can save and submit it to clubs..
Members BigDolla
First get a kick ass collection of music to make any crowd feel the moment.Get a huge variety and selection of music otherwise you will get sick of your own music or your crowd will get sick of your music. Learn as many methods as you can to mix and match music.Beatmatching, scratching, looping, sampling, live instrumentsExperiment and innovate with sounds, transitions & beatsgo see live music, other DJs and learn as much as you can. Don't rely on software to mix. Otherwise you will just be a human jukebox.and you will never gain the skills to make your own music or developyour style. Software is good for doing studio work but is not very exciting for you or a crowd. Don't expect to make money, (unless you want to only do weddings)It takes time, a good music selection and skillsBut, do expect to make lots of fun. Practice practice and practice, then go out and make or collect more music Play free for your friends, if you are any good you will get invited to play again. if not, Practice practice and practice, -B

Members peter250
As long as you have a " good ear" for music, you will pick up DJing in no time. Goodluck.
