You'll have to be careful then. The G12B is rated at 150w, while a V30 is only 70w. I've never played one, but reviews say that while it's dark, it's a good sounding speaker. I keep the mark at 1/2 power which is 65w I think.. but this is just my homeplaying and not-that-loud jamming cab.. got a 4x12 in my practice space. Maybe that's the problem. Getting a higher rated speaker and not driving it enough could contribute to an unsatisfactory tone. Have you tried it in full power?
