Putting a choke on an amp?

Chokes don't really effect the tone until you're at band rehearsal volume and upwards.

The noise reduction is also pretty minimal.

It does make the low end more punchy and direct when the amp is cranked.

That may, or may not, be a good thing depending on your tonal preferences.

I've not got a problem with PCB's, i have a problem when PCB's are thin and not well done!

 

 

I agree with you on that part.

 

I'll admit I've not looked inside a Blackstar, but I can't imagine them using anything thinner than 0.062", which should be fine for their amps. 0.093" is more optimal, especially for the board with the power supply (what with the big ole caps) but not exactly necessary.

its under .06! They also use pathetically thin chassis material, the 100 and 200watt models bend the chassis out of shape and then start wearing the pcb inside. I've seen this on 4 or 5 of their amps now. Its not so much of a problem on the HT series, which is odd.
