I didn't want to give up the 6L6 cleans but finally decided to try the EL-34s figuring if I didn't like them I can throw them in the Splawn. {censored}, I wished I listened and tried them sooner! The amp sounds fuller where it matters (in the mids) and the ratty/woofy low end in Mk I mode is GONE. The hit to the clean tones was minor (if at all, really) and easily worth the tradeoff for the improvement in the other channels/modes. I'm super stoked. Anyway, here's a couple of clips for {censored}s 'n giggles or if you're on the fence about trying the EL-34s. One is noodling in Mk I mode and one is comparing the EL-34s to the 6L6s.
