Members bluehuricane
i'm planning on building a guitar for myself. it'll have a single p90 and i was thinking, instead of having a volume knob, i think it'd be cool to have a push button that makes the guitar go from full volume to right where it's clean on my amp. what do you think about that? how hard would it be to build? i think a guitar without knobs would look incredibly cool and i like the simplicity of it. Members MakuseruSukotto
It wouldn't be hard at all, just have a switch wired up to change between two different value resistors. Just measure with a Multimeter to find out where you want the volume to be at to be clean.

Members MahaloVision
Wire a trim pot inside the cavity so that you can adjust it for different amps.
Members HeimBrent
Or have an offboard volumecontroll that drops the volume when needed. Like a stompbox. Then you could just have an on/off-switch on the guitar.
Members ZachBMTH
niceeee, it doesn't seem like it would be much of a troubleyou'd have to find a body without the holes for the knobs already cut into it but, the stomp box idea would work using the same idea as having it so it just switches resistors good luck if you pursue it
