Members fordboy
Hi, folks!!--looking for suggestions on this subject--not sure how safe heat guns or chemicals would be concerning the neck-thru construction...don't want to soften/weaken the glue...any suggestions greatly appreciated!! THANKS!!

Members badone07
Might as well try a chemical stripper. Doubt you'll have any problems using a chemical stripper, because of the thickness involved. I like Aircraft Stripper myself. Heat would have a better chance of softening the glue joint, than a chemical stripper. Depending on how thick the finish is now, sanding could take a long time. Last week I used an angle die grinder with a 3M Roloc Disc, to remove Poly from a headstock. Worked much better on that particular poly, than a heat gun & chemical stripper did. Then finish sanded by hand.
