Members NeverTheMachine Posted December 3, 2012 Members Share Posted December 3, 2012 I don't know what it's actually called. It says "Belton" on it and is used to cover one of the 12ax7 pre-tubes. I was unloading the amp from the car yesterday. Don't know exactly how it came out but it was there. I used the amp for about 6 hrs yesterday after that ... so it obviously was functional. I'd like to get a new shield to fit the amp sooner than later, because it's obviously there for a reason. Any idea where I can get one of these things in a store near the NYC area, or can you suggest a good online place? and ......... Is it really important? Can find em here:http://thetubestore.com/beltonvtshield2.htmlI would replace it, because you'd sure as hell feel silly if for example somebody opens a beer and the cap flies and shatters an exposed tube. 1 in a million I know, but semantics.EDIT: One more thing, that store is based out of Hamilton, so as long as they dont send it to Winnipeg for distribution then I dont imagine it would take long at all to get to you, and go figure they sell the same brand, Belton.
