Members Mr. Brian
I have an empty bass cry baby received as a gift from my friend. Is it normal that the "pedal" stays down when there's no pot inside/holding it? I mean... when I pull the pedal up in the upright position, when I leave it, it falls down flat, "parallel" with the case.

I just got a decent deal on an old Akai Vari-Wah and the pedal on it would go down when not in use, but not all the way. I disassembled it, cleaned all the dust out of it, then re-lubed the pin and other parts where the pedal pivots. It falls flat easily now.
Members radonballoon
yeah that's normal. without the pot and the resistance of the treadle the weight shifts to the front.
