Members ChrisAlbertson
How hard is this to do?? Physically in terms of the skill required it's about as hard as changing a string on a guitar. Dead easy if you've done it 100 times but if you've never held a guitar in your hands before it might take some thinking and research. The things to remember are (1) the wire needs to have a solid mechanical connection before you apply the solder. Twist it, crimp it or "whatever" to make it solid. and (2) heat the parts to be soldered then apply the solder to the part and let the hot part melt the solder, not the iron. (Note that if you followed rule #1 that heating one part make the other one hot also.) There are many solder "how toos" on-line. Google will find them. Practice soldering on junk first. Bare house wires, discarded consummer electronics and whatever.
Members Zozobra
Pretty easy. Make sure the caps are discharged first or you'll get a nasty surprise.
