Maxitronix Labs To learn?

I want to learn about Electronics. Basically to learn to repair amplifiers, speakers, and so on, and also because i would like to make some DIY synths, like a hobbie in general. I was looking for a book or something, but this labs seemm to be much more fun.

 

Are these labs any good?

 

Is there something more "professional"? (I know they are toys, but they seem deep though)

 

Wich one would you recommend? Should I go to the bigger one?
