Members orsino
I'm so pleased that El has allowed me to post a recording of The South Wind he did at home during a snowstorm recently. El posted the following in an earlier thread on another forum.......... "I've recorded this tune three times, and am not totally happy with any of them. The version on my 1998 release, Acoustic Guitar Treasures, may be the closest to what I hear in my head. I've finally been able to capture the drama and urgency of the piece live, but I've never recorded it the way I play it now--with variations and a lot of rubato--variations in tempo and texture. Oh well." I really feel that this home recording captures the essence of this piece. El said that this recording is the "audio equivalent of a "one-draft wonder" in college!!", but although it certainly isn't as polished as El would do in the studio, I think that in many ways the authenticity of it makes it even better! Thanks for allowing us to hear it El. It's truly stunning. El McMeen - The South Wind - Snowbound Home Recording
