Members dougbeens
I was at the Guitar Center in Buffalo on Boxing Day and played a Gibson acoustic that had STAR inlays (sort of like on Chet Atkins models) that appeard on the bridge, fingerboard, and headstock. I believe it also said "Studio" or "Special" on the truss rod cover... I can't, for the life of me, figure out what model it was... Can anybody tell me if they recognize this description? Does anybody have some pics? Thanks!

Members acoustiholic
I could be mistaken, but it might be the "Elvis" model if it's all black with stars down the fretboard....I think it's been discontinued. Can anyone help here?
Members LittleBrother
In the 1920s Lloyd Loar at Gibson used a Turkish Inlay guy I think. Star and moon symbol I think. On the headstocks of Gibsons in the 1910/20s FYI
Members guitarcapo
I think you're a little off on your dates. the headstocks say "The Gibson" from that time period. the Tukish stuff was on guitars before 1910
Members LittleBrother
Thanks GC. Speaking of which , if you have 80,000 dollars to blow here are a few older Gibbys, one with star inlay. Pretty awesome looking. Friction peg tuners, hehe. EBay Auction on two old Gibsons
