Members juallhuce
My wife's Grand mother just recently picked up an old electric acoustic. This thing is MINT. It's a solid body e.c. and the brand on the head looks almost hand done...it says Old Kraftsman. Anyone know anything about these guitars? I don't have an amp with me right now so i can't plug it to see how she really sounds.. I'll try and get some pictures later...maybe tommorow or something if nobody knows anything about it. Thanks for any help. juallhuce

Members MartinD45-GS
Maybe you meant solid top, back, and sides. (just a logical guess)Hmm... never heard of the brand.

Members 54merk
Not sure what you are describing but Old Kraftsman was the house brand of the old Spiegal mail order company. Their guitars were made by various manufacturers, including Kay. According to Acoustic Guitars, The Illustrated Encylcopdia, they were for the most part inexpensive instruments, although Gibosn did make a few carved top (archtop hollow bodies with f holes) in '36-'37. They also did sell some quality resonators which were made by National-Dobro. I would expect that the solid body electrics were also economy models.
